Forged-head solid-shank tools are Ideal for the
heaviest-duty industrial applications
To make these rugged tools, the head, shank, and socket are all forged from a single piece of bar steel. A solid steel section (shank) in the neck joins the blade and the socket and provides maximum strength at this critical stress point.
Forged heads are heavier and thicker than stamped heads, so they don't need a frog in the blade and thus won't collect and hold
material. The thicker forged blades wear longer than stamped blades.
